March EM Event Schedule

Hello friends,

We had a very busy February! In addition to the last event in the alchemy arc before the finale, we visited a new whiskey distillery to battle some spirits, and we had the honor of hosting EM Ulric for a particularly deadly fight with some mongbats in Moonglow. Many partook in the grand re-opening ceremony of the Sonoma Reward Hall with a quick scavenger hunt, and the fishing challenge concluded with SWEAVER GAL winning for February! Also, a special shout out to Clym for showing up to the town hall, last Tuesday. I may change these to bi-monthly or quarterly if you guys don’t find them valuable. I like to gain feedback from you at town halls, but I can always do this after events, as well.

For March, the fishing challenge fish chosen by SWEAVER is the Kingfish. These can be found in deep water in Trammel and Felucca.

Here is your event schedule for March:

  • Sunday, 3/12 7pm PST: Governors meeting in Blackthorn Castle
  • Tuesday, 3/14 7pm PST: Alchemical Energy Finale Part I
  • Wednesday, 3/15 7pm PST: Alchemical Energy Finale Part II
  • Wednesday, 3/29 6pm PST: Town Hall
  • Wednesday, 3/29 7pm PST: Paragon Dungeon Crawl
  • Friday, 3/31 Midnight PST: Fishing Challenge Deadline

February’s Fishing Challenge Winner is SWEAVER GAL!

SWEAVER GAL has won the February Fishing Challenge! Weaver’s Fairy Salmon, caught on the 16th and weighing in at 159 stones won over the stiff competition by the other two contestents. Congratulations to our winner. SWEAVER’s plaque will be displayed in the reward hall shortly!

SWEAVER, because you were the winner of this month’s contest, you get to choose the fish for March!  Here is a link to available rare fish choices. Please choose your reward fish by the 5th of March and either email me (, contact me in game, or post your response to a generally read forum.

Thanks to all that participated!  Honorable mentions:

  • Asherah – 123 stones
  • Hydraken – 34 stones

Reminder: Special Event Tomorrow (2/23) at 7pm PST

Hi friends,

Just posting a reminder that Sonoma has the honor of hosting EM Ulric’s first event tomorrow, 2/23 at 7pm PST. EM Ulric will be Chessy’s new EM, and he has something exciting planned for all of us.

We will meet at our normal spot at the war room in Serpent’s Hold. This is considered an RBG event and points for attendance will be awarded.

Scavenger Hunt, Reward Hall Grand Re-Opening, and Special Event!

Hello friends,

Three updates for February, that I hope you’ll be excited about!

First off, the EM Reward Hall has been redesigned and is reopened! Go check it out. The new design allows room for expansion and has a generally more cohesive layout (fewer things scattered around the floor). The book shelves have books in them from past events for your reading pleasure, and there is plenty of wall space for new reward plaques.

To celebrate the reopening of the reward hall, I’ll be hosting a scavenger hunt with five winners! Each winner will receive a special plaque in the reward hall to commemorate the redesign of the hall. All those that wish to participate please meet at the Reward Hall on Friday, 2/17 @ 7pm PST.

Also, on Thursday, 2/23 @ 7pm, I have a special EM event for you. I can’t give any more info at this time, but mark your calendars. *evil grin*

February has become quite a full month, so here’s your updated calendar of events:

  • 2/12: Sunday @ 7pm PST: Governors Meeting
  • 2/15: Wednesday @ 7pm PST: EM Event: Distilled Spirits
  • 2/17: Friday @ 7pm PST: Scavenger Hunt & Reward Hall Grand Reopening Party
  • 2/22: Wednesday @ 7pm PST: EM Event: Alchemical Energy Part IV: The Guardians
  • 2/23: Special Event @ 7pm PST *Date and time subject to change*
  • 2/28: Tuesday @ 6pm PST: Town Hall
  • 2/28: Tuesday @ 7pm PST: Paragon Dungeon Crawl
  • 2/28: Tuesday @ Midnight PST: Fishing Challenge Deadline

Happy travels!

February’s Event Schedule

Hello friends,

Apologies for the late update. It’s already the 3rd, and I don’t want anyone to miss out on the fun in store for February!

We did quite a bit in January: two dungeon crawls… one gruesome one, and another that was a bit more gentle. We discovered the town of darkness, which brings us mid-point in the alchemy arc. And we kicked off the reinstatement of the RBG with day 1 of training.

For February, we will again pay a visit to the darkness, bringing us one step closer to closing the alchemical rift between dimensions for good. Also, a whiskey distillery has opened on the north island of Jhelom! The carpenter-turned-distiller found a market of thirsty warriors for his tasty spirits. Drinks on the house on the 15th of the month!

Here’s your February event lineup:

  • 2/12: Sunday @ 7pm PST: Governors Meeting
  • 2/15: Wednesday @ 7pm PST: EM Event: Distilled Spirits
  • 2/22: Wednesday @ 7pm PST: EM Event: Alchemical Energy Part IV: The Guardians
  • 2/28: Tuesday @ 6pm PST: Town Hall
  • 2/28: Tuesday @ 7pm PST: Paragon Dungeon Crawl
  • 2/28: Tuesday @ Midnight PST: Fishing Challenge Deadline
  • TBD: Reward Hall Grand Re-Opening

A few announcements: I have yet to redo the reward hall, and I’m falling into the same bad habit as past EMs and just tossing event nostalgia on the floor. I wanted to roll out the dark town for you guys and didn’t have time to complete both that and the reward hall. I’ll plan on redoing it this month and will announce a grand re-opening event, once completed. I’ll set the house to private while I redo the inside, but expect a hall that’s a bit more organized.

Event Attendace Books: I will post when attendance books are ready. I realized it’s easier for me to do all books for the month at once at the end of the month. They will be out front of the Hall of Commons when ready.

Royal Britannian Guard: I’ve modified the marks awarded to accommodate those that can’t be at every combat event. Dungeon crawls, other “mini” events, and the governors meeting will all count as 5 points – same as combat EM events. I’ll be updating that post (and making it a sticky in the nav bar).

As always, feel free to email me at with any questions/comments!

February’s Fishing Challenge Fish is… The Fairy Salmon!

Percie D’Ni has selected the Fairy Salmon for February’s fishing challenge! The Fairy Salmon, which can be found swimming in the rivers of Ter Mur, can be turned in to the mailbox at the EM Reward Hall in Malas by midnight PST on February 28th. The winner will receive a plaque to be placed alongside the other winner plaques in the reward hall. Happy  fishing!

January Fishing Challenge Winner: Percie D’Ni!

Percie D’Ni has won the January Fishing Challenge! Percy’s Holy Mackerel, caught on the 25th and weighing in at 224 stones won by the largest margin, so far, of 30 stones! Congratulations to our winner. Percie’s plaque will be displayed in the reward hall for all to see!

Percie D’Ni earns the privilege of choosing February’s fish! Please email me, drop a book in the reward hall mailbox, or ping me when I’m in-game by February 5th to let me know your choice for this month.  Here is a link to available rare fish choices.

Thanks to all that participated!  Honorable mentions:

  • Tomasso D’Napoli – 194 stones
  • Karn – 186 stones
  • Shadow Walker – 178 stones (Lost his lord title in addition to his winning streak! *chuckles*)
  • Asherah – 163 stones

RBG Marks:

To gain RBG marks, one must actively participate in battles (EM combat events), contests (Scavenger hunts, Archery tournaments, etc.), Governors Meetings, and Dungeon Crawls. The maximum number of marks one can receive per month is 15.

  • Battles (EM Combat events): 5 marks
  • Contests (mini events and RP events): 5 marks
  • Governors Meetings: 5 marks
  • Dungeon Crawls: 5 marks

Town halls and player events do not qualify for RBG marks.

What exactly is the RBG? The Royal Britannian Guard is a military style system designed to add a level of emerson, role play, and achievement to EM events on Sonoma.

Is there a maximum number of marks I can gain per month? Yes. There is a hard cap of fifteen RBG marks per month per person, and marks can not be traded.

When will I get my marks? The RBG marks are similar to points. They are intangible and you will not receive them, in game. You can email or chat with the EM to discuss how many RBG marks you have at any time.

How will I be recognized at an event if I’m on a different character? If an alternate character is at an event, the character must state the name of their primary character to gain marks for that character. For example, if I’m on a character named Blackthorn but my main character is Chimaera, I must let the EM know that at the time of the event by simply saying “Chimaera” at the beginning or end of the event, so it is recorded in the EM’s journal.

How am I recognized as active? Simply attending the events and staying hidden until the end does not qualify as active. If the EM can’t see you, he can’t give you credit for being there. The EM will take several screenshots throughout the event using “all names” and at the end of the event compare that with his recorded journal. Active players are those that have been seen throughout the event – not just at the beginning and at the end.

I feel that I have not received my fair number of RBG marks. If you feel the number of marks is less than what is reflected, please discuss this with the EM, and he will review your participation.

When do we receive our ranks? There will be three RBG ranking ceremonies per year: At the beginning of January, May, and September.

Can I keep my current rank? Yes. You can keep your current rank as long as you like. You will continue to receive RBG marks and can change your rank to a higher rank at any ranking ceremony.

Please reach out to with any further questions. This page will continue to be modified and all info is subject to change.
